Psychology of Proper Marketing

Hello everyone, We have been quite over at our sister company 77 Design Co recently. Last week we posted a blog that is also relevant to photography, particularly commercial photography, so here it is: Proper marketing of your business requires the simultaneous use of many differing things. In order for your ad, print marketing materials, signage, web/social media pages, and other handouts to resonate with a customer, you have to have visual appeal. If there isn’t an attractive design, logo, or image(s) included, you may be throwing away costly materials, or worse…losing a potential customers attention! Creativity, color, strong photography, font styles, layout, and the overall design play important roles in how your business is perceived. Using “Gestalt Principles” to better your business’s message can greatly increase your reach and marketability, as well as create an appealing brand to share with the world. Gestalt (meaning unified whole) psychology is what marketers and advertisers have been using for years to create attractive ads. Its a German psychology theory on how the human brain processes, perceives, and then puts together pieces of something they see. Although studies vary, most are similar in their results. The brain processes visuals 92-94% more than text alone. We, as humans, engage quicker and longer when there are images involved. The brain also processes these images 50,000-60,000 times faster than text. As a business owner it is up to you to not only provide customers with the highest quality of work, but also to use every option available to cut costs, increase brand awareness and engagement, and get more reach. 77 Design Co-Our Sister Company

Hi all, it’s been a while. Just posting a quick blog explaining my absence lately. 77 Design Co, our sister company, has BLOWN UP! We are beyond busy helping local and regional businesses better market themselves. A lot of what we offer is customized commercial photography/video, blog and technical writing, graphic design, social media help, printed signage and marketing materials, and website building. There are a lot of businesses in the Pittsburgh area that need someone to help them solidify the marketing side of their business to attract new customers. Some of the businesses that we are currently working with are trades businesses (electricians, contracting companies, etc) and manufacturing firms. I LOVE it! Business is booming, but maybe even better is the fact that I have finally found my little niche in the world…visually communicating messages for small business through commercial photography! This allows me to hone in on a particular product or service and bring a vision to life for my client to show their clients or prospective clients. Couple that with the great design and web work my business partner, Rob Hoffman is doing and the fantastic writing/social media/video work the rest of our team is doing and we have built something truly special. We are here to help the small guy become relevant and increase the visual marketing personality for some of our larger clients. It feels great to help these businesses grow! Until next time…have fun! As always comments, questions, suggestions, and critiques are encouraged!  ...

Blog Has Been a While!

Hi everyone, It has BEEN A LONG WHILE since I’ve blogged for the site. Sorry but it has been extremely busy the last few months with my sister company, 77 Design Co, about 8-10 weddings I’ve shot in recent months, editing, and life in general. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and you are ready for Christmas. Some of the things we have been up to with 77 is marketing for a local Vape shop, CPA firm, meeting new business owners, writing proposals, and building websites. The Vape shop job in particular is quite exciting. I have shot the owners machine shop equipment and we will be installing HUGE metallic prints for a gigantic opening for the vape shop. The owner wants to have an industrial look to his shop since his background is in machining, and I’m extremely proud of the images thus far. They are a mix of conceptual and abstract photos to add to the decor inside the already beautiful vape store. Lots of striking black and white, and lots of crisp sparks. It should be a real treat to all who visit. More to come on that soon. We will be working hand in hand to determine an opening date and I will keep the blog updated on this. Also, I will try to keep up on the blog about a great many other things happening with Drakulic Photography LLC, and 77 Design...

Commercial, Wedding, Realty, Portraiture, and Event Photography

Hi everyone, Happy September! It’s been a while and I haven’t been able to keep up on the blog recently. The months of August, September, and October have been circled on my calendar for the entire year as being the three busiest months in 2017 for Drakulic Photography and 77 Design Co. Over the last few weeks I’ve shot probably 6,000-7,000 photographs for several weddings, commercial, realty, and portrait clients. Throw in the mix an 11-12 hour Heather Habura Studios Showcase event shoot (photo below) and it all spells out…S-W-A-M-P-E-D! Now the editing process begins, which for those that do not know, is where the real work begins. I’ll just plug away at it all and as I always do, I’ll finalize the photos for my clients in a timely fashion so they aren’t waiting on them forever. I wanted to take a minute to thank Chris and Heather Habura for bringing in myself, Eric Pensenstadler, and Larry Hornyak as the photo/video/DJ services for the second straight year at their showcase event. Also, thank you to Jack Landis & Company, Scott Corna Health Markets, all of my wedding and portrait clients, and the real estate agents that have all hired me, and/or my sister company 77 Design Co, in the last several weeks. Thanks for keeping us busy over here! We appreciate you all, and will work hard to provide you with the best possible images and services that we can!   Photo by: Someone at the Heather Habura Studio Platinum Showcase & Charity event. Ha ha. Feel free to tag yourself if you took the photos of us!...

Chincoteague Island Photographs

Hi all, It’s been a bit since my last posting. Been uber busy, but I managed to slip in a few days of vacation in between jobs. This week I just wanted to share a few images from our short vacation to Chincoteague Island in Virginia. Chincoteague is a small beach town on coastal northern Virginia in between Ocean City, Maryland and Virginia Beach, Virginia. The island is well known for their wild ponies, but I found some of the other aspects of the town pretty interesting. I’ve never been there before this trip so I was excited to explore a new area…and of course visually capture the trip! Usually for me, vacations consist of adult beverages, just 4-5 hours of sleep, searching for great food, relaxation, boogie boarding, and fishing. Recently though, in the last 10-15 years or so, I have incorporated just as much photography into vacationing as all of the above. Have a peek at the photos below and let me know what you think. As always comments, questions, suggestions, and critiques are encouraged!              ...

What Is It About Photography That You Enjoy? Comments Welcome!

Hola Amigos, I wanted to open up the blog this week for everyone to give their opinion on what they love about photography. Obviously, if you are reading this either you are a friend, family member, business associate, client of mine, or someone randomly reading a blog about photography. In any instance, I think its safe to assume that you enjoy the art of photography. According to some statistics from a few reputable sources I’ve researched, there are over 1.3 TRILLION photos taken each year! So yea, people enjoy photography! I’ll open up some ideas for your comments: *Do you enjoy the candid, spur of the moment (or as Henri Cartier Bresson labeled it, “The Decisive Moment”) stoppage of time that photography creates? *Are you way into wedding, abstract, portraiture, street, or landscape photography? Why? What is it that you love about it? *Are you proud of someone or something and you take a photo to share with the world? *Are you another photographer or visual artist? Why? Share with us why you do what you do. *Are you in business for yourself and looking for that powerful image that will separate your business from others? What would that look like to you? *Do you enjoy seeing your children or grandchildren captured in a photograph? *Selfies? *Food? *Maybe you enjoy taking photos of people and things you come across. What types of photographs do you like to take? *Is it the emotional impact that a strong photograph conveys that interests you? There are countless reasons why we all, as humans, are drawn to photography. Some of these reasons could...
